Students who purchase a new kitesurfing setup (kite, board, bar) from LearnToKitesurf after completing a Zero to Hero course with me have access to my Free Coaching. This program runs on weekends, for 2 hours, on either a Saturday or Sunday and is tide and wind dependent. Students must give a weeks notice of their intention to participate in a session so I can check availability.
About the coaching
This Coaching is designed to ensure you feel completely confident with your new gear, without me being right next to you the whole time. By this stage, you’ll be working on your board skills and will be kiting up and down the beach. I will be watching over you and others, helping each student whenever it’s needed. I will be available to help you with board skills, kite trim, control, setup, and any other theory or instruction you might need. If there is a particular aspect of your kiting you don’t feel confident about, make sure you discuss it with me so you can work on it during the session. This is not a 1-1 lesson using the radios. You'll be using your own gear.
How many sessions can I come to?
I aim to get you to a stage where you are an independent kitesurfer as quickly as possible. Once you’re up and riding comfortably both ways, and starting to go upwind, I consider the job done. These sessions are not to teach you tricks or advanced riding, but simply to make sure you are enjoying yourself in a safe way, and that you feel confident out on the water with your new gear. And they are free!
Minimum skill level requirement
You must have completed the Zero to Hero course with me. The sessions are done in a 2 hour slot around high tide. So you must be confident to kitesurf out of your depth and be able to retrieve your board when you come off (although I will be there to assist if necessary). You must also be able to self-rescue.
